Back From Ireland

Chris and I arrived back this week from Ireland.
We spent 19 days there and had a great time though
we did have the flu for most of our time there.
We didn't get out a lot and missed seeing some friends
and going places but it was good to spend time with family.

I don't normally like pictures of me but Chris took this one which I really like.
Hope you enjoy the scenery. Will post some more pictures in a few days.

A Moment in Time

I am amazed daily by God's Handiwork. The other day coming home from work I had the priviledge of taking this picture. A moment in time captured on film. Since January as David Jeremiah's book puts it, we have had a huge bend in the road but I think we are now rounding that bend. We have learnt a lot about suffering, heaven and how God can work through it all. In the midst of everything, we have seen our relationship grow with each other and more importantly with God. We believe God is closing this chapter of our lives to open a new one and we are excited. In December we will be leaving His Mansion to move to Maryland where I believe God has many more wonderful things to teach us and also bring us through. We will take a short break from ministry and then wait for His door to open on what He desires for us to do next. We have some hints of that but nothing definate as yet. Do continue to pray for us in this transition.

Also stayed with friends in Maine which was nice. Tried out my new camera. Here are some pictures of the family, Memere and Chris . What do you think? Will post some more over the next few days.

Photography

I have been thinking for a long time about taking up photography more. I have decided to put my photos up for sale on a website. Don't know how well it will do but do pass the website address on to family and friends and if you want any particular pictures taken let me know and I will see what I can do. The website address is
http://www.mariespiess.photostockplus.com/
Enjoy. Will be gradually adding more photos so keep watching.
Feedback would be helpful for me so if you have any comments please send them my way especially if they are constructive. You can comment on this blog, the website or at mariespiess@gmail.com

Deb' Going Away Party

On of our newest members to His Mansion is leaving this weekend and she is going back home to get married in September. We are all extremely happy for her but sad to see her go as her stay was only short. This was the lady who took over my job. We went to Karen's backyard and had an outdoor pizza party. While outside here was the view. You know how much I love scenery!!!

Squirrel

Looking out my window this evening I was reminded of the movie Oliver when Oliver says, "Please sir. I want some more." What do you think?

Guess what? I think he found something.

Lunar Moth

Haven't seen a lot of butterflies this summer but saw a Lunar Moth today. Look at its' antennas and the underside of its' body. The antennas look like leaves and the underside of its' body was like fluff. Amazing the creations of God.

New Neighbors 6.17.07

Hi all
Just found out we have new neighbors. This evening at about 6.30pm we were having our dinner on our porch which you can see in the picture and in the woods we saw a mother bear with 2-3 cubs. They were as close as the edge of our lawn as shown in the picture with the porch. Amazing. I have always wanted to see a bear but God blessed me and went the extra mile. It was funny cause as she started to get closer we slowy picked up our plates and backed into our living room. Of course then I got the camera and as she headed back into the woods I stood on the porch and took these pictures. If you double click on them you will get a better view. Enjoy.

Trip to Washington DC

Over the weekend Chris and I, his mum Sue and Gary and my dad and brother Paul went to Washington. We had a long day but it was great seeing all the sights. It was my dad's and Paul's first time there. I'm sure there will be many more times to come. The fountain and the New Hampshire sign is at the World War 2 Memorial. We went to see it at night which was so nice and of course the other picture is of during the day. There is a wall with 400 stars and each star represents 100 American men and women who died in World War 2. This is the other picture you see.
Here also is the Capitol building and the White House. George was busy so we didn't disturb him!!

Spring has Sprung

Spring has truly sprung and I think everything thinks it is summer. Over night everything seems to have blossomed. On Sunday I went to Beard's Brook a common tourist sight around here. It was so peaceful just listening to the water and seeing the sun glisten off it. Here is a glimpse of Spring in New Hampshire.

1st Weekend in May

This weekend Chris and I went to his aunts house in MA. We did some site seeing which was a whole lot of fun. We learnt a little about Henry David Thoreau and how he was born David Henry and changed his name. For those of you who don't know him he was a writer and he wrote of Walden pond which you see here in the picture.
We also visited Concord and Lexington MA and seen a show on how the British invaded Boston and the surrounding areas. Also how Paul Revere and commorades fought again the British to save their country and countrymen. It was very interesting and now the freedom trail in Boston makes a whole lot more sense to me.
Sunday morning we went to a barn for breakfast. They can cook. Then we did a little more sight seeing. Great weekend.

Animals and Sunset

Spring is here. All the animals are out in the garden. The squirrels and chipmonks are out everyday. The sunsets are beautiful.
